Brother Dave B. Taylor, 81, of Mammoth Cave, passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
He was born in Cub Run to the late Harvey Taylor and Donnie Bratcher. Brother Dave was a farmer and an ordained Baptist minister, having pastored churches in Hart, Edmonson, Grayson and Hardin counties. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of the Hill Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Calvin Taylor, Harley Taylor, Amy Logsdon and Mamie Logsdon.
Brother Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nelsie Mae Taylor; daughter, Karen Taylor (Jim) Agee of Brownsville; three sons, Allen (Veronica) Taylor of Ollie, Brandt (Kim) Taylor of Smiths Grove and Reed (Judy) Taylor of Mammoth Cave; two sisters, Naomi Alvey and Nora Myrtle Tay-lor, both of Cub Run; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral for Brother Dave Taylor is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Hill Grove Baptist Church in Edmonson County with Brothers Danny Wayne Sexton and Dan Hogan officiating. Burial with military honors follows in Hill Grove Cemetery. Honors will be performed by VFW Post 6937 of Edmonson County.
Visitation continues at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville and after 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Hill Grove Baptist Church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Hill Grove Cemetery.
