Diane McFarland Vittitow, R.N., 55, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.

Diane was a caregiver by trade and was always there to help those she cared for; from sun burn to a cold; Diane was there to heal. Diane celebrated life, and she loved to immerse herself in the miracle of nature. Diane was grateful and humbled by the gifts of the universe. She was a gift we will all cherish.

Diane was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur McFarland.

She is survived by her husband the love of her life, Steven Vittitow; her proud mother, Edeltraut (Dell) McFarland, who dearly loved her; two daughters, Stephanie Slaughter (Ryan Moberly) and Kristin Slaughter; two grandchildren, Gavin and Corbin Mo-berly; a brother, David McFarland (Cathy); a niece, Katie; and a nephew, Michael McFarland, all of Atlanta.

The funeral is at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Schop-penhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Preston Highway at Brooks Road, with cremation to follow.

Visitation begins at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to her grandchildren's education fund.
