Dorris Delores "Dodie" Daniel, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Hardin County, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at Signature Healthcare of East Louisville.
Mrs. Daniel was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, where she also was a member of the church choir. She was a graduate of the Louisville Girls High School and had retired from Kroger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, CPO Joseph "Jack" Daniel; and her parents, Carlos and Bertha Jent.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Downard and her husband, Dan; two grandchildren, Lisa Peak and her husband, Max, and Chris Brashear and his wife, Nicole; four great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daniel's funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, in the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove with Dr. R. Shawn Edward officiating. Burial follows in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continues at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

I have fond memories of Dodie when we both were members of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She and I both sang in the choir, as well as we both worked with the children choir. I also liked the picture you used in the paper it was Dodie at her best. May she rest in peace. Portia Petties.
