Edwin Harlan "Huey" Howey, 77, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018.

He was a member of Woodmen of the World and a Kentucky Colonel. He attended Western Kentucky University, where he received his Master's Degree in education. Huey retired as a math teacher at Valley High School. When he wasn't teaching, Huey enjoyed farming and watching his grandson, Seth, play baseball. Huey was also known to have a generous heart and loved to tell stories.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Howey; his parents, Marion and Elizabeth Howey; and his grandparents, David and Zetta Bennett.

Huey is survived by two daughters, Wendy (Chad) Perkins and Risa Howey; a grandson, Seth Allen Perkins; a brother-in-law, Charles Taul; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Huey's life at 2 p.m. CST Friday at New Clover Creek Baptist Church, 6308 KY-105 in Hardinsburg. Burial follows in the church cemetery

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. EST Thursday, May 17, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville and continues at noon CST Friday, May 18, at the church.
