Effie Givan Duvall, 94 1/2, of Cecilia, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Green Meadow Health Care Facility.

She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Mount Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Big Clifty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Duvall; her parents, Parker Smith and Margaret F. Sipes Givan; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Wise Duvall; a brother, Clarence Givan; and a grandson, Jason K. Duvall.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Joseph) Flowers of Mount Washington; three sons, Kenneth (Sally) Duvall of Alexandria, Va., George P. Duvall Sr. of Elizabethtown and John D. (JoAnn) Duvall of Show Low, Ariz.; two sisters, Edna Morris of Louisville and Cynthia Wilson of Alabama; five grandchildren, Parker Duvall, Pamela Lisi, Lora Sloan, Jennie Schatz and Jill Ramos; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial follows in Howevalley Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
