Eula Mabel Jones Wright, 84, of Cecilia, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her residence.
She was a native of West Point, a member of the Cecilia Homemakers Club and Cecilia Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was known as the ""Cookie Lady"" to her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Wright Sr.; her parents, William Jesse and Jacie Jones; two brothers, Jack and Bill Jones; and a sister, Kate Perry.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Wright Smith of Cecilia and Patricia Wright Williams of St. Louis; a son, William C. (Chris) Wright Jr. of Cecilia; a brother-in-law, Harry (Donna) Wright of Cecilia; two sisters-in-law, Ione Jones of Owensboro and Jane Morgan of Cecilia; seven grandchildren, W.C. Wright, Bryan (Renee) Smith, Lori Williams, Amy (Scott) McDade, Rachel Williams, Emily Wright and Leslie Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Ben, Emma, Nate, Eli, Sully and Jackson; her caregivers, Judy, Ashley, Amanda, Joann, Renee, Dianna, Tender Touch and Hosparus nurses; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cecilia Baptist Church with the Rev. Erdie Carter Jr. officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
