Evelyn Taylor Gibbons, 90, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Hart County in 1923 to the late Tom Taylor and JoAnn Puckett Taylor. She later married Joe Gibbons, who preceded her in death. She retired from Fort Knox civil service (TASC) in 1982. She was a breeder of American Saddlebred horses and owned a kennel for many years, raising and selling poodles and miniature yorkies.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Joey Gibbons, and four brothers, Homer, Edwin, Howard and Victor Taylor.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Kim) Gibbons of Hodgenville; four grandchildren, Sara Gibbons, Amy Nunn, Jessica Cooper and Cody Gibbons; five sisters, Edna Logsdon of Cub Run, Nannie Bell Logsdon of Cub Run, Delores Logsdon of Cub Run, Barbara Lee of Hodgenville and Millie Huff of Brooks; two brothers, Gary Taylor of Mammoth Cave and David Taylor of Cub Run; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Obadiah Okeson officiating. Burial follows in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
