Freddie Minter, 85, of Vine Grove, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff.

Mr. Fred was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. He was an active part of the Vine Grove community, where he had service stations for 45 years, served on the city council for 12 years and was a founding member and trustee for Valley View Bap-tist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan V. Minter.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Alice Minter of Lexington, Freddie Joe "Dude" and Beth Minter of Vine Grove and Gary and Debbie Minter of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Valley View Baptist Church in Vine Grove with Dr. R. Shawn Edwards officiating. Burial follows in Vine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continues at 9 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
