Garnett Lee Grady Turner of Big Clifty ascended to Heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Fannie Mae Grady; a brother, Everett Grady; and a sister, Doris Barr.

She is survived by and awaits her husband of 51 years, Hillery Turner; three children, Nita Conner (Henry), Kathy Turner (Devon) and Audis Turner (Susan); a sister, Pauline Casto (John); a sister-in-law, Dorothy Grady; and three grandchildren, the joys of her life, Torah Dae, Braum and Leo.

"She will be remembered for many acts of kindness, generosity, an enduring faith in the goodwill of her fellow man and a commitment to be a doer of the word, inspiring others accordingly. She will be missed, her spirit honored by the legacy of her actions and love."

A memorial service is at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 8, at Tri-Unity Church in Leitchfield with Randall Dennis officiating. Burial follows at Summit Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. EST Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. EST Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

The family suggests expression of sympathy be made in the form of gifts for angel trees or donations to the family resource centers of Creekside Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, West Hardin Middle or East Hardin Middle schools.
