Georgia Rebecca Frakes, left this world in the arms of her wonderful savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born in Monticello, Ga., on Oct. 25, 1923, to the late Grady and Ethel Cargile. The most loving, gracious, patient, caring and wonderful Christian woman, Rebecca, was 90 years and four days old when she changed addresses. She was the loving wife of 53 years to Delbert Frakes, who preceded her in death in April 2000 and she was formerly of Vine Grove.
Also preceding her in death were her beloved son, Gary; her grandson, Brandon; a granddaughter, Marilee; two sisters, Jeannette Sumners and Joanna Cargile; and two brothers, James and Leonard Cargile.
Rebecca is survived by her oldest son, Ron Frakes and his wife, Sherry, of Radcliff; a daughter, Lydell Oltmans and her husband, David, of Dothan, Ala. David says he cashed in his "best mother-in-law ever" lottery ticket the day he married Lydell.
Rebecca was a special grandma to eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Shana and Shaun Frakes, Justin, Nathan and Brandon Frakes and Geoffrey and Daniel Oltmans; five great-grandchildren in Alabama and two in Kentucky. Three surviving siblings include Grady "Junior" Cargile, Linda Watkins and Patricia Ferris, all of Georgia. She claimed Betty Dixson as her daughter in Jesus and special friend; and her best buddy, Flo Loeffler.
Rebecca's going home celebration is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
