Helen Ivene Pence, 65, of Big Clifty, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Grayson County.
She was a farming housewife and was employed by Hardin County Schools for 20 years. She was a member of Summit Church of Christ. She was married to Farley T. Pence for 50 years and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Vada Hatfield Staples.
She is survived by her husband, Farley Pence of Big Clifty; a son, Danny (Sandy) Pence of Big Clifty; a granddaughter, Kayla Pence of Big Clifty; a special sister, Wanda (Paul) Huffer of Big Clifty; two brothers, Jerry (Sarah) Staples of Big Clifty and Donald (Debbie) Staples of Howevalley; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Roberta Hart of Big Clifty.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Summit Church of Christ with Brother Sam Dick officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson.
