Jack Warren Shrode Sr., 93, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Helmwood Healthcare in Elizabethtown.

He was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Walter N. and Elsie M. (Griffin) Shrode
He was a graduate of the University of Evansville and attended graduate school at Washington University in St. Louis. He was a World War II veteran U.S. Army captain, serving in the hospital corps in Europe.
Jack was the hospital CEO of the predecessors of the Oklahoma City OU Medical Center Hospital from 1952 to 1974, which was Wesley and Presbyterian Hospitals, then CEO at Tahlequah City Hospital until 1983. Jack was an ordained Episcopal Church deacon and later ordained as an Anglican Church priest.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Shrode of Elizabethtown; two sons, Jack Shrode Jr. and his wife, Trecia, of Elizabethtown and John Shrode of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey and his wife Kelly Shrode of Louisville, Jason Shrode of Dallas, Jared Shrode and his fiancee, Emily, of Austin, Texas, and Angela Drelleck and her husband, Josh, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Jonathan Shrode of Louisville.
Mr. Shrode's wishes were to be cremated. A service is at a later date.
Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
