James L. ""Tubby"" Gardner, 65, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at his residence.
He was retired from Vac Magnetics (formerly Crucible) of Elizabethtown and worked at Adams Magnetics until recently. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, attended Mount Sherman Mission Church and was an active member of the Goodtime Cruisers Car Club for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linnie and Selmah Bell Gardner; a sister, Mary Margaret Skaggs; and three brothers, Carl Leroy Gardner, Marvin Gardner and Harrison ""Shorty"" Gardner.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Faye Skaggs Gardner; two daughters, Melissa (Lester) Crosswhite of Buffalo and Cynthia (Ricky) Herron of Hodgenville; four sisters, Martha ""Jean"" Bianco of Illinois, Gracie Shelton and Doris Lee (Stephen) Skaggs, both of Hodgenville, and Mary (Garland) Gibson of Buffalo; six brothers, Ray (Elizabeth) Gardner and John ""Bobby"" (Barbara) Gardner, both of Louisville, Henry (Susie) Gardner and Linnie (Joyce) Gardner, Jr., both of Hodgenville, Charles (Nancy) Gardner of Mount Sherman and Norman (Diane) Gardner of Boston; four grandchildren, James Crosswhite III, Sarah Herron, Marissa Crosswhite and Savannah Herron; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gardner; his mother-in-law, Pauline Keith; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Mount Sherman with Brother Odell Warren officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
