James Harold Gore, 73, of Big Clifty, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
He was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Big Clifty, the son of Robert Lee and Hattie Tackleberry-Gore. He retired after 32 years as a security guard for Dow Corning, a military policeman in the Army and a member of Elizabethtown American Legion Post.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by two sisters, Paula Hazelwood and Patsy Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruby Catherine Dupin-Gore of Big Clifty; two children, Stephen (Michelle) Gore and Pamela (Pat) Pearl, all of Big Clifty; two brothers, Donnie (Judy) Gore of Clarkson and Bobby Gore of Caneyville; and eight grandchildren, Chase, McKinley, Stetson and Kennedi Gore and Chris, Noah, Abby and Logan Pearl.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. CDT Tuesday, July 3, at Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery in Eastview.
Visitation begins at 3 p.m. CDT Monday and continues at 9 a.m. CDT Tuesday at the funeral home.
