James Marvin Hart, 81, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at his home in Louisville surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 4, 1931, he was a native of Sonora and graduated from Sonora High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was co-owner of H and H Scale Co. for 44 years. He was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Cora Hart and his brothers, Albert and J.R. Hart.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine, three sons, Timothy (Bonnie), Thomas and James G. Hart; three daughters, Carolyn Greenwell (Joseph), Frances Roberts (Martin) and Joanna Hammond (Lawrence); 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Sallee and Yvonne Whittaker.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora with the Rev. Bruce Underhill officiating. Burial follows at Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
