Jerry W. Abston, 73, of Glendale, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was a native of Birmingham, Ala., served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a security guard for Deutsch Industrial for 21 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and loved playing the piano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Charles and Effie Marie Huff Abston, and two brothers, Charles and Gilbert Abston.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anna Baughn Abston; two sons, Jerry Branson of Tyler, Texas, and Jerry Dwayne Abston of Parkersburg, W.V.; a daughter, Tina Marie Burns of Branson, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Rose Ann Price of Fenton, Mo.; a brother, Robert Abston of Fountain Valley, Ca.; a sister, Norma Jean Bailey of Ringgold, Ga.; and a grandchild, Jassmine Marie.
Cremation was chosen.
Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
