Joe B. Whaley, 90, of Caneyville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 18, 1922. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II, a self-employed tire salesman, and a member of Bethel Fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Billie Joyce Preston Whaley; his parents, John and Mary Alice Whaley; a sister, Mary Pyles; five brothers, Henry, Albert, Edley, Herbert and William Whaley; and a very special great-granddaughter, Fawna Sky Whaley.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Woosley of Maryland, and Vicky Nelson of Caneyville; two sons, Ricky Whaley of Leitchfield, and Ron (Barbara) Whaley of Falls of Rough; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson, with Brother Ron Miller officiating. Burial is in Layman Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
