John F. Wimsatt Sr., 61, of Elizabethtown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Elizabethtown and worked as a forklift driver at the Thompson Saw Mill and at Zaks Saw Mill. He attended New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Sallee Wimsatt; his parents James and Eva (Woodrum) Wimsatt; a son, Mark Wimsatt; three brothers, Pat Wimsatt, Herman Wimsatt and Phillip Wimsatt; and two sisters, Rose William-Bliss and Christine Wimsatt.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina Mullins of Elizabethtown and Betsy Bartsch of Fredonia; a son John Wimsatt Jr. of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Lisa Sallee of Hodgenville and Sandy Shultz of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Jamie Ewing aka Kenneth Williams of Elizabethtown.
The funeral is at noon Monday, Nov. 11, at New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Phillip Quesenberry officiating. Burial follows in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the church.
