John Lewis LaRue, 92, of Pensacola, Fla., originally of Radcliff, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Facility in Pensacola, Fla..

He was a native of Warsaw, Ind. Mr. LaRue was a World War II veteran, retired from the United States Army and also retired from civil service at Fort Knox. He also was a longtime member of V.F.W. Post No. 10281 in Vine Grove and DAV Chapter No. 156 in Radcliff.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude "Trudy" LaRue; his parents, Amos and Zelpha LaRue; a brother, Donald LaRue; and a sister, Amy Ulmer.
Survivors include one son, Allen LaRue; two granddaughters, Stacey LaRue and Tina LaRue; three great-grandchildren, Jacob LaRue, Trevor LaRue and Bella Lilly Stantonall, all of Pensacola; a stepdaughter, June Todd of Toledo, Ohio; a special friend, Thomas Whittington of Rineyville; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. LaRue's funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial follows in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff with military honors
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, and continues at noon Aug. 4 at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home. A V.F.W. service is at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
