John W. "Billy" Spalding Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

Billy was born in Elizabethtown and moved to Sanford, Fla., in the 50s and resided is Osceola County, Florida for the past 25 years.
Also known as "Speedy," he was an avid fan of cars, fishing, the "Cubbies" and the Kentucky Wildcats. He will be greatly missed by freidns and family as he was known for his kindness and willingness to help others in need.

Survivors include three younger brothers, Joe Paul, Dale and Michael; two younger sisters, LaNelle and Ann; three sons, Vincent, Jay and Lucas; two grand-daughters; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

A funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Maitland, Fla.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel in Orlando.
