Joseph Anthony Hamilton, 86, of Flaherty, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.

Mr. Hamilton was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty. He was a former member of the board of directors for RECC and Big Rivers. He was also a lifelong farmer in the Flaherty area.
He preceded in death by Mary Ann Hamilton; two siblings, W.A. Hamilton Jr. and Martha Rattazzi.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hamilton of Flaherty; eight children, Judy Hamilton Guidone and her husband, Jim, of Greensboro, N.C., John Hamilton and his wife, Kathy, of Bowling Green, Timothy J. English and his wife, Denise, Jimmy English and his wife, Pam, and Mike English and his wife, Carrie, all of Brandenburg, Logan E. English, Cathy Jones and her husband, Pat, and Joey English and his wife, Amy, all of Flaherty; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Hamilton is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty with the Rev. Kevin Bryan officiat-ing. Burial follows in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. A prayer service is at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
