Joseph Martinkus, 71, of Radcliff, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at his residence.

He was a native of Scranton, PA and retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years, having served two tours in Vietnam. He also retired from civil service. He was a very wonderful man and a big University of Kentucky and sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merle Flenner Martinkus.
He is survived by two daughters, Kim (Brent) Martin of Glendale and Kristi (Bert) Sweeney of Radcliff; six grandchildren, Taylor, Rylie, Destiny, Tyler, Blake and Kayla; a brother, Leo (Dolores) Martinkus of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and a niece, Michelle Martinkus.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Mike Bell officiating. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
