Mr. Joyce Brandon "J.B." Johns, 82 years young, of Brandenburg, was peacefully carried away by angels on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

J.B. was born and raised in Eastview, the son of Lewis and Cora Lee Noe Johns. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud veteran; and he retired from General Electric with 35 years service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Ramona Jean Johns; his second wife of six years, Bette Zirnheld; and a sister, Glora Dean Noe.

J.B. is survived by a sister, Virginia Hester of Shepherdsville; five children, Cindy (Buddy) Greer, Debra (Paul) Hollingsworth, all of Brandenburg, Edward (Tammy) Johns of Bardstown and Larry (Debbie) Johns and Les (Paula) Johns, all of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren, Cynthia (Chris) Deal, Travis Greer, Amanda (Adam) Robinson, Joshua Greer, Ramona Carter, Amanda Zdral, Charlie Segers, Jennifer (David) Stewart and Laura, Justin, Adam and Ashley Johns; 17 great-grandchildren; and a very dear friend, Mary Ann Lancaster. J.B. also is survived by three stepchildren, Holly (Gary) Woolums, Valorie (Mike) Minter and Jeffrey Zirnheld; and seven stepgrandchildren, Leslie Ellis, Lorie Hull, Teddy Woosley, Erin Henle, Amanda Newton, Jacob and Ryan Zirnheld.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Lincoln Trail Christian Church, 507 Valley View Drive, Ir-vington, with the Rev. David Buckham officiating. Burial, with military honors, follows in Meeting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastview.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
