J.V. "Duck" Ross, 86, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his residence.

He was a Baptist and a "Jack of all trades" working as a farmer, construction worker and lastly as a pipe fitter at Fort Knox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Bunnell Ross, and three brothers, Wendell, Orville and Thurman Ross.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, June Goad Ross; a daughter, Marjorie A. (Donnie) Vickery of Hodgenville; a son, Jerry Wayne Ross of Hodgenville; five grandchildren, Todd (Diane) Morris, Neil Vickery, Lindsey (Bobby) Hood, Melissa Anne (Steve) Braden and Jennifer Lynne (Mike) Sanders; 13 great-grandchildren, Ty and Evan Morris, Ethan and Owen Hood, Joseph (Jessica), Christopher, Jacob, Nathaniel and Zachary Mosgrove, Cole (Jana) and Garrett Sanders and Daniel and Cheyenne Holbert; and a brother, Robert B. Ross of Baltimore.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Burial follows in Horse Cave Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
