Kenneth Edward Underwood, 79, of Lebanon Junction, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at his home.

He was a native of Younger's Creek in Hardin County and was a retired forklift operator at General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Lois Brown of Lebanon Junction; one daughter, Rene Hodge (Tommy) of Lebanon Junction; one son, Danny Underwood (Pattye) of Lebanon Junction; two grandchildren, Sherry Edgar and Shanna Underwood; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Mann, Garrett Mann and Emma Edgar; three sisters, Christine Goodrich of Shepherdsville, Shirley Noe of Lebanon Junction and Betty Dickerson of Leitchfield; and three half sisters, Margaret Faulkenburg and Kathy Cranmer, both of Boston, Ky., and Carolyn Edelin of Lebanon Junction.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Mike Rodgers officiating.
Burial follows in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of arrangements.
