LaVanna W. 'Cricket' Bowen, 81, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of LaRue Baptist Church, and was a retired Certified Med Tech at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curn and Ethel Hawkins Wheeler.

She is survived by her husband, Biven Leon Bowen; two daughters, Bonnie (Harvey) Milby and Vanessa (Robert) Combs, all of Hodgenville; a son, Chuck (Peggy) Bowen of Hodgenville; two brothers, L.D. (Delores) Wheeler of Sonora and June (Dorothy) Wheeler of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Pastor Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial follows in Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
