The Rev. Lawrence "Larry" Roney Cook, 76, of Frankfort, husband of Carla Mae Griesser Cook, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, from complications of Parkinson's Disease.

He was born Feb. 6, 1942, in Knoxville, Tenessee, to the late Rev. Wesley Roney Cook and Laura Louise O'Connor Cook. For the last 21 years of his ministry, he served as minister of music and adult education for First Baptist Church in Frankfort. He influenced many lives through his 39 years of ministry in churches in both Georgia and Kentucky. He enjoyed playing the piano, singing, arranging flowers and spending time with his family. For the past three years, he was pleased to be part of a University of Kentucky's neurological study on Parkinson's Disease and continues to contribute to their research even in his death.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori (Dirk) Morgan of Murray and Amy (John) Pacyga of Louisville; a son, Dwayne (Marsha) Cook of Frankfort; a sister, Martha Brown (Kay) of Elizabethtown; his brother, Jerry Cook (Charlotte) of Nashville; and eight grandchildren, Bryan (Rachel), Shelby and Jonah Morgan, Jacob, Rebecca and Jonathan Cook and Benjamin and Rachel Pacyga. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a great-grandson, Cason Morgan this summer.

A celebration of life was Saturday, May 12, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort.
