Lawrence "Larry" Smith, 70, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Eliza-bethtown where he was the minister of music and served on the Board of Trustees. He worked as administrative law judge for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, was a retired major in the U.S. Army JAG Corps and served three terms on the Radcliff City Council. He was a member of 100 Black Men, M.O.W.W, Workers Compensation Board and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Survivors include his wife, Dollye Smith of Radcliff; three daughters, Amber Jean Smith-Davis of Radcliff, Jenohn LeShea Smith of Atlanta and Kanetha Rene Smith of Louisville; six grandchildren, Jason D. Greene and Jasmine Z. Davis, both of Radcliff, and Mackie T. Falireas, Ash T. Falireas, Donovan T. Smith, and Micah T. Dorsey, all of Louisville; his mother, Margaret Pannell of Cleveland; two brothers, James E. Pannell Jr. of Hamilton, Ohio, and Mickey O. Pannell of Kennesaw, Ga.; three sisters, Marjorie Pannell of Atlanta, Jacqueline A. Pettway of Riverdale, Ga., and Deborah J. Pannell of Euclid, Ohio; and an adopted son, John H. Edwards of Radcliff.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown with Dr. B.T. Bishop officiating. Interment, with full military honors, is at 11 a.m. Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Friday at Percell and Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. An Alpha Phi Alpha Omega service is at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of contributions to the Lawrence and Dollye Smith Foundation for foster children at PNC Bank.
