Louis B. Thompson Sr., 86, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013.

He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired independent fuel distributor, charter member of the former St. Clements Catholic Church, now St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and the Friendship Club. He also was an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Thompson; a grandson, Christian Alexander; and two brothers, John and Francis Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; seven children, Louis B. Thompson Jr., Pamela Tucker, Teresa Lester (Jim), Beverly Garuccio (Rick), Brenda Thompson, Christopher Thompson (Tina) and Charles Thompson (Carol); eight siblings, Rita "Imogene" Prang (Don), Betty J. Brumfield (Scotty), Eddie Thompson (Deannie), Robert Thompson (Judy), Norbert Thompson (Bonnie), Edith Laughlin, Billy Thompson (Jeannie) and Rosemary Ryan; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road, Louisville. Burial follows in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, Louisville.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Peter the Apostle, Right to Life or Hosparus.
