Lucile Hatfield Smith, 83, of Springview Health & Rehabilitation, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Leitchfield.

She was born June 29, 1929. She was a retired seamstress, upholsterer and library assistant. She was a member of Millerstown Methodist Church and attended Clarkson Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Holmes Smith; her daughter, Shirley Riggs; two grandchildren; a great-grandson, Nicholas Riggs; and her parents, Oscar and Leva Ann Fulkerson Hatfield.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Gooch of Pikeville, Tina Kiper of Short Creek and Nancy Smith of Clearfield; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. CST Sunday, Jan. 6, at Millerstown Methodist Church with Brother Johnny Long officiating. Burial follows in Millerstown Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. CST Saturday and continues at 9 a.m. CST Sunday at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson.
