Margaret Hood Peters, 75, of Springfield, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at her home.

A native of Washington County, she was born Oct. 29, 1937, to the late Sammie and Edith Curtsinger Hood.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Peters Jr.; a brother, Ancil Hood; and a sister, JoAnne Holt.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Peters; two daughters, Debbie Young (David) of Campbellsville and Sandy Huddleston (Phil) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Tammy Milton, Amy McNeill and Renee Rakes (Aaron); five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Miles and Helen Chesser (Tolbert), both of Willisburg; a brother, Charles Hood (Burbona) of Chaplin; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Cal Adams officiating. He will be assisted by Shirley Ball and the Rev. Frank Peters. Burial follows in Cemetery Hill in Springfield.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
