Marilyn Yvonne Hawkins Martin, 67, of Elizabeth-town, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was a native of Hardin County and an active member of Round Top Baptist Church. She was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary and the E-town, Hardin County and LaRue County Retired Teachers Association. She was very active in Jail Ministry in Hardin County. She was a retired teacher at Vine Grove Elementary School, where she taught for 31 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee and Frances Hawkins, and a brother, Donald Hawkins.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Don Martin; three sons, Mark (Tina) Martin and Jason Martin, both of Elizabethtown, and Brent (Kim) Martin of Glendale; one brother, Kenneth L. (Ruth) Hawkins of Elizabethtown; one sister-in-law, Janice Hawkins of Versailles; and four granddaughters, Kailey, Taylor, Macey and Rylie.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home, with the Revs. Donnie Davis and Gene Waggoner officiating. Burial follows in Round Top Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of other gifts, donations may be made to Gideon's International.
