Marjorie L. Hoskinson, 84, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Brandenton Nursing Home in Bradenton, Fla.

She was a Hardin County native and a retired teacher from Morningside Elementary School. She got her master's degree from Western Kentucky University. Her goal in life was to be the best teacher she could be.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Cromer and Blanch (Howard) Hoskinson; her husband, Alan Hoskinson; her first husband, Gene Williams; and a brother, David Carroll Hoskinson.
She is survived by a daughter, Leah Williams (Mark) Best of Bradenton; two grandchildren, Marlea and Benjamin Best; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Anthony; a stepdaughter, Kathy Staton of Prospect; a stepson, Albert Hoskinson of Louisville; and two stepgrandchildren, Kara and Teddy Staton.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Dr. Mike Gibbons officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
