Martha Jean Lyon VanMeter, of Fernadina Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.
She was a native of Elizabethtown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Pealy" VanMeter; a son, Evan; parents, Victor and Lucille Lyon; and a brother, William J. "Bill" Lyon.
She is survived by a son, Paul (Doris) VanMeter of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Hugh Carter (Peggy) Lyon of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Wanda Kitchens.
Cremation was chosen.
A memorial service is today, Oct. 14, at St. George Episcopal Church in St. George Island, Fla.
