Mossie Viola Blan, 80, of Big Clifty, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at her home.

She was born July 23, 1933, in London, Ky. She worked at the Leitchfield Sewing Factory and was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Blan; her parents, John and Nannie Golden Lawson; three brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Harrison (Ruby) Blan, Louis Blan and Floyd Blan, all of Big Clifty; two daughters, Sharon (Larry) Dennis of Leitchfield and Marie Dennis of Big Clifty; two brothers, Cliford Lawson and Leonard Lawson; three sisters, Patricia Goins, Evelyn Lawson and Thelma Lawson; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Hardin Springs Community Church in Big Clifty with the Revs. Randall Dennis and Jimmy Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
