Nelson Otice Simpson Sr., 69, of Radcliff, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at his home sur-rounded by family.

First Sgt. Simpson retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabethtown, Radcliff Lions Club, Masonic Unity Lodge No. 12 and V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena E. Simpson of Radcliff; three sons, Alvin L. Simpson and his wife, Jill, of Reading, Pa., Nelson O. Simpson II and his wife, Anita, of Radcliff and Tracy M. Simpson and his wife, Theresa, of Las Vegas; two daughters, Daphne D. Davis and her husband, Vernon, of Spring Lake, N.C., and Sheri N. Simpson of Louisville; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Ellen Morell officiating. Burial, with military honors, follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. A Masonic service is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
