Richard Gordon Mathieson, 82, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mr. Mathieson was an Army veteran, having served in Korea. He retired from civil service at Fort Knox from the Treasury Department. He was a beloved member of Hodgenville United Methodist Church where he was known for his coffee making.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Thomas Mathieson in 2001; and his parents, LeRoy and Grace Coulder Mathieson.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family and friends.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, at William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with Brothers Harry Spurrier, Bob Howell, Roger Newell and Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial follows in Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hodgenville United Methodist Church in Hodgenville.
