Robert G. Groves, 85, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his residence.
He was a native of Connersville, Ind., and a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Owens-boro. He was the manager for J.J. Newberry in Owensboro and a salesman at Sears for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Charlotte Chance Groves.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Louise Woodward Groves; two daughters, Yvonne (Brown) Gwynn and Anita (Pat) Cardin, all of Eliza-bethtown; and a grandson, Chase (Brittany) Cardin of Lexington.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Dale Curry officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and continues at noon Saturday at the church.
