Robert V. Ward, 49, of McConnelsville, Ohio, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at his residence.
Robert was born Dec. 2, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Westland High School and was a former member of the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, N.C., and the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team based in Vicenza, Italy.
Survivors include his mother, Emma Ward of Johnstown; his father, Paul E. (Carol) Ward of Kentucky; a sister, Paola (Ed) O'Flaherty of Johnstown; two brothers, Edward (Kim) Ward of Tennessee and Christopher (Michelle) Ward of Grove City, Ohio; three stepsisters, Barbara (David) Coyle, Janet (Monty) Sydnor and Becky (Steven) Carpenter, all of Kentucky; three nephews, Harley, Tyler and Jacob; and one niece, Torrie.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, with the Rev. Malcolm S. Davis officiating.

We grew up with the Ward's years ago in Holly Hill. My family is saddened by this untimely loss. After their family moved away, we lost track of them, but still hold all the memories close in our hearts. We admire Robert's time serving in the military and are thinking of all of them during the very sad time. God bless!
