Roma Allen Sims Jr., 75, of Vine Grove, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at his residence.

His memberships included St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove and Knights of Columbus, Father Diemert Council No.3379. He retired from Olin Chemical Plant in Brandenburg with 40 years of service. He also was an avid golfer and a fan of the University of Kentucky where he retired from the 101 Committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roma Sims Sr. and Grace; two sisters, Alice and Dorothy; and two brothers, Jesse and Glenn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Patty Sims of Vine Grove; three sons, Trey Sims and his wife, Stephanie, of Stamping Ground, Chuck Sims and his wife, Dana, of Shepherdsville and Chad Sims and his special friend, Crystal, of Vine Grove; three grandchildren, Turner, Cameryn and McKenna; one brother, Wayne Sims of Irvington; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Sims is at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove with the Rev. Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial follows in St. Brigid Cemetery in Vine Grove.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. A prayer service is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
