Ronald Lee Skirvin, 64, of Radcliff, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Indian Creek in Corydon.

Mr. Skirvin was a recipient of the Purple Heart having served in the U.S. Army where he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vine Grove Masonic No. 603 F&AM and the 17th Artillery Regiment Association.

Survivors include his loving wife, Valerie Skirvin of Radcliff; eight children, Stacy Piatt of Radcliff, Ronald Skirvin Jr. of Frankfort, Dewayne Skirvin of Rineyville, Melissa Skirvin, Christopher Moore and Robin Skirvin, all of Radcliff, Amanda Denning of Elizabethtown and April Gribbins of Radcliff; 13 grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The funeral for Mr. Skirvin is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial, with military honors, follows in St. Brigid Cemetery in Vine Grove.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
