Ruby J. McAtee, 84, of Frankfort, formerly of Big Spring, passed into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012.

Mrs. McAtee was a long-time resident of Big Spring and retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabetown. Mrs. McAtee was a member of The Capital Baptist Church in Frankfort and lived honorably, fruitfully and graciously before the Lord and "Her children rise up and call her blessed."
Mrs. McAtee was born Nov. 27, 1927, to Henry and Edna Jordan, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Delphus Leo McAtee; and a sister, Louise Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Vaught and her husband, Randolph Vaught, of Frankfort and Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren, Jonathan Vaught and his wife, Gretchen, Stephanie Vaught, Sarah Cathey and her husband, Jeremy, Melody Fryman and her husband, Andy, Joy Vaught and Daniel Vaught; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Vaught, Elizabeth Vaught, Benjamin Cathey, Abigail Vaught, Kara Cathey and Caleb Fryman; a brother, Kenneth Jordan and his wife, Gail; and a sister, Etta Jean Lynch.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 23, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, 205 Highland Ave., Vine Grove. Burial follows in Big Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Capital Baptist Church, 1241 Schenkel Lane, Frankfort, Ky. 40601.
