The Rev. Tom R. Coffey, 60, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.

Tom retired as manager of the LaRue County Water District after 24 years of service. He pastored four churches in LaRue, Green and Taylor counties: Corinth, Allendale, Bethel and Mount Carmel Baptist churches. He was serving as deacon and Sunday school teacher at Buffalo Baptist Church.
Tom was a faithful Christian witness and served as a source of strength and encouragement to many. He trusted in the Lord at age 12 and now is at home with his savior.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Duncan Coffey; his children, Staci (Kris) Riggs of Magnolia, Traci (Steve) Weaver of Buffalo and Ryan (Holly) Coffey of London, Ky. He was a loving Papa to Layla and Bridgett Weaver, Ty Coffey and Austin and Matthew Riggs. Also surviving are his parents, Willis and Ada Coffey of Mount Vernon; and three brothers, Keith (Susan) Coffey, Steve Coffey and Willis G. (Kim) Coffey, all of Mount Vernon.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Buffalo Baptist Church with the Revs. Chad Burdette, Roger Pepper, DeWayne Gibson and Bob Boster officiating. Burial follows in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home, 80 Maple Drive, Mount Vernon and continues from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
