Verner Felix Miller, age 95, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

He was a member of Barren Run Baptist Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran having been a POW for more than nine months and was a Purple Heart recipient. Verner was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Hodgenville and a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Dora Frances Druen Miller; a brother, a half-brother and three half-sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Faye Middleton Miller; a daughter, Donna (Dave) Petterson of Bowling Green; two sons, Jerry (Frances) Miller of Elizabethtown and Greg Miller of Hodgenville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Barren Run Baptist Church with Brother Bruce Underhill officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
