Walter J. Williford, 82, of Clarkson, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his residence.

He was a retired engineer and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

He was married to the late Barbara Williford and was the son of the late Etheridge Payne and Louise Payne.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a grandson, Derek Minter; and his parents.

Mr. Williford is survived by three sons, Walter G. (Luz) Williford of Louisville, David Bruce (Emilia) Williford of Lawrenceburg and Chris E. Williford of Winchester; four daughters, Susan (Danny) Clemons of Wax, Debbie (Jeff) Minter of Edmond, Okla., Becky (George) Greenwell of Berea and Sammi Williford of Wax; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Olivia (Billy) Nix of Nashville, Ga.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. CDT Thursday, Oct. 24, at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson with Dennis DeSpain officiating. Burial follows in Clarkson Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. CDT Wednesday and continues at 9 a.m. CDT Thursday at the funeral home.
