William Chadwell Marsee, 77, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Lynch and a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was the president of Youth Theatre of Hardin County for 40 years. He was an avid Elizabethtown Panthers' fan and carried the chains at all home football games for more than 45 years. He formerly coached little league football and he retired from the Elizabethtown post office after 20 years as a letter carrier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Retha Jane Meade Marsee.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth J. "Betty" Clark Marsee; two children, David (Jody) Marsee of Richmond, Ind., and Cindy (Scott) McKinley of Shepherdsville; one brother, Dewey (Jean) Marsee of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Sean McKinley at Theological College (Catholic University), Ryan (Lilly) Massa-McKinley, Daniel Marsee and Patrick Marsee; and one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Massa-McKinley.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at St. James Catholic Church with the Revs. Chuck Walker and Stanley Osborne officiating. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A prayer vigil is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
