William Hunter "Bill" Goatley, 74, of Sonora, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church near Sonora, where he taught the adult men's Sunday school class; a lifelong farmer;retired supervisor for Coca-Cola in Elizabethtown; founding member of the LaRue County Pork Producers; and served on the board of directors for the regional farm service agency.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Mitchell and Leola Clarice Sweazy Goatley; and a sister, Paula Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Hornback Goatley; two sons, Donnie Goatley and Billy (Paula) Cottrell, all of Sonora; a sister, Janet (Bill) Husband of Louisville; three grandchildren, William "J.R." (Brigitte) Cottrell, Coty (Kane) Beckwith and Mason (Bridgette) Goatley; and four great-grandchildren, Kaya and Roan Beckwith and Lorissa and Brooklyn Goatley.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Revs. Billy Curle and Mike Walker officiating. Burial follows in Oak Hill Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
