Mr. William Ray "Bill" Mitchell, 79, of Brandenburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of First Baptist Church, where he was an inactive deacon, Fairdale Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Ruth Ritchie Mitchell; three sons, Charles William Mitchell of Charleston, S.C., Mark Douglas (Dori) Mitchell of Elizabethtown and David Earl Mitchell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren, Eric (Shelley) Tyler, Morgan Grace and Amber Taylor; two brothers, Ronald Lee Mitchell of Fairdale and Daryl Herman Niles of Flaherty; and a sister, Jacqueline Ebke of Jewelsburg, Colo.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg with the Rev. Sherman Ramsey officiating. Burial follows in Garnettsville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
