William S. "Bill" Routt, 72, of Enon, Ohio, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.

He was born on March 20, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to the late Covert and Winifred (Standing) Routt.

He graduated from Sonora High School in 1959, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in 1964 and later earned his master's degree. He honorable served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1969. Bill retired from RTA in 2005.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Bill had a great love of Harley Davidson motorcycles and trains. Enjoying scenic train trips was a vacation routine.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Marilyn E. (Jones) Routt; four children, Mark and his wife, Alison, Routt, Mary Katherine Routt, Amy Prosser and Michelle and her husband, Anthony, Mariscano; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Micah and Mason Routt, Garrett, MacKensie and Madison Prosser, Joshua and Caleb Smith and Dominic Mariscano; two brothers, James and his wife, Donna, Routt and David and his wife, Toni, Routt; a sister, Carol and her husband, Mike, Caldwell; dear friends, Sam and Carolyn Oliver; and many other family and friends.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Church in Yellow Springs, Ohio with Pastor Kenneth Moore officiating. Burial follows in Enon Cemetery in Enon.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Vitas Hospice.
