Jennings Leroy Cross Sr., 86, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his residence.

He was a native of Park City and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired contractor and farmer and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Frances Stevens Cross; his parents, Edgar and Nellie Mae Preston Cross; and two sisters, Wanda Cross Keith and Earlene Crabtree.
He is survived by his daughter, Roxanne O. Cross of Smiths Grove; four sons, Terry Stewart (Brenda) Cross of Alvaton, Martin Brent (Angela) Cross of Glasgow, Jeff (Billie Jean) Cross of Chalybeate and Jennings Leroy (Georgia) Cross Jr. of Elizabethtown; a brother, E.O. Cross of Horse Cave; and four sisters, Lois Constant of North Carolina, Lorene Smith and Virginia Allen, both of Louisville, and Bernice Shipp of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Arnold Moon officiating. Burial, with military honors, follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
